Research around the world

I chose the link http://www.wcdvu.org/ssa/majorreports.php
this site was based on research done in Africa. I saw that research done there dealt with everything from adminstration, teachers and professional development, parents and caregivers, the community, nutrition, and curriculum development. These are the same issues that we look at in the United States pertaining to research. I found it amazing that Africa being so far away that they are interested in the same issues we are. It just goes to show that education no matter what contry you are from is still very important. One topic that caught my eye was Involving Fathers in Early childhood Care and Development. In the school where I work we are constantly coming up with ways to get fathers into the classroom. We see the mothers all the time but hardly ever see the dads.
I learned that just because a country does not have the same as we do here in America, the education of thier children are still very important.

  1. I think it is great that there are other countries who believe in education as much as the United States does. It is sad when father's do not really participate in a child's education and that many will not come into the classroom. I remember when I had volunteered at a local elementray school it was always mothers who helped in the classroom. I remember one day my husband had come into school with me and the kids really liked him. After the first visit he kept coming back with me. I am glad I was able to convince him that this is for the best.

  2. Hello Joy,

You wrote some interesting comments in your blog about Africa. I must admit from all the negative information I heard about Africa; this website surprise me a lot. It offer a lot of information on the same topics that the United States are concerned about. Fathers are our big concern when it comes to participating in their children classroom. I am happy to see that around the world in Africa, fathers are encouraged to participate in their children classroom, because fathers are welcome in the classrooms.

  3. I agree with you 100%! It does not matter what country, city or state we live in education is important. Having fathers involved in their child’s education is one of the key factors of a child succeeding.
